Rydges lands at Gold Coast Airport

The new-build hotel offers modern rooms, conference spaces and a rooftop bar.

Gold Coast Airport has welcomed its first hotel, with the completion of Rydges Gold Coast Airport.

Part of the Event Hospitality & Entertainment portfolio, the hotel features 192 rooms and dedicated conference spaces right on the doorstep of the Gold Coast International Terminal.

Reported by Spice News in 2018, the $50 million hotel also includes a resort-style pool, rooftop bar and restaurant.

Luxury room type

General manager Luke Harley said the hotel is a great addition to the region.

“No other airport hotel in Australia can offer guests a 25-metre resort-style pool, outstanding roof top bar with uninterrupted ocean and tarmac views – just one minute walk from the airport terminal – while also being so conveniently located to all the surrounding sights, sounds taste and experiences the Gold Coast and surrounds has to offer,” he said.

Guests can choose from deluxe, premium and executive room types over seven levels, with facilities to accommodate both corporate and leisure travellers.

Conference space

The hotel offers two conference and event spaces, which can cater to groups of up to 250 people.

Runway Restaurant and Bar, is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, while Salty Fox Rooftop Bar will open on 13 November with views over the ocean and the tarmac.

Event Hospitality & Entertainment director of hotels and resorts Norman Arundel said the Rydges Gold Coast Airport will play a key role in boosting visitors to the region.

“Prior to the impact of COVID-19 on travel, the Gold Coast Airport was the sixth busiest airport in Australia, with more than six million people passing through its gates each year, and we look forward to contributing to efforts to drive tourism on the Gold Coast, and beyond, as borders reopen domestically and internationally,” he said.
