Back in February, TFE Hotels announced its takeover of the former Four Points by Sheraton on the Docklands site, rebranding the 273-room hotel as Vibe Hotel Melbourne Docklands – the 12th hotel for the Vibe Hotel brand and second in Melbourne.
The hotel’s general manager, Nigel Maxey, was joined by senior TFE Hotels figures for the opening, including chief operating officer, Chris Sedgwick; senior director of operations, ANZ, Tish Nyar; and regional general manager, Victoria, Stephen Moore.
“Last year was a milestone year as our homegrown Vibe Hotels brand completed a lap of the Aussie map with the opening of our design-focused Vibe Hotel Adelaide,” says Sedgwick.
“This year, the brand will go from strength to strength as we welcome Vibe Hotel Melbourne Docklands into the fold, prepare to announce new pipeline hotels, and celebrate our 21st year of operations.”
Vibe Melbourne Docklands is located close to Marvel Stadium and boasts harbourside and CBD views.
TFE’s global sales officer, Shahnaz Bakhshay, says the hotel holds broad appeal across all market segments thanks to its accessible location, deluxe queen and queen room stock, and versatility in the MICE space.
“As a precinct, Docklands brings together the best of Melbourne’s dining, conferencing, events and accommodation in one buzzing spot, making Vibe Docklands an attractive proposition for our leisure, conference and special events guests,” she says.
“We have no doubt the deluxe queen-queen rooms will be very popular with families.
“We’re also excited to add seven meeting rooms – including the Sky Room with its skyline views – to the Melbourne portfolio, along with a private bar, two outdoor terraces, and wellness facilities such as the heated rooftop lap pool, 24-hour fitness centre, pool, spa and steam room.”
Sister property, Vibe Hotel Melbourne, is also launching a rooftop venue – conceptualised by Melbourne interior designer Paul Kelly – on Friday, 12 April, 2024.
