AHL’s QT Canberra has opened for business ahead of the official opening tomorrow.
The 205-room property, of which most elements are now open, is located on the site of the former Rydges Lakeside hotel and after significant refurbishment is becoming the fifth QT hotel in Australia.
AHL’s group managing director David Seargeant said, “The opening of QT Canberra marks the fifth hotel to join the QT Hotels and Resort family [and] the opening of QT Canberra lays testament to the acceptance of the QT brand and the design hotel movement within the Australian market.
“QT Canberra will deliver an eclectic design experience teamed with unique food and beverage offerings and unsurpassable service for corporate and leisure travellers, and the local Canberra market alike.”
Renowned designer Nic Graham has again been responsible for the remodelled exterior and interior of the property, while a number of leading suppliers have been involved in the project, including Prototype Commercial Furniture for chairs, tables, custom upholstery, bedheads and more.
Heading up the food side is QT Hotels’ Creative Food Director, Robert Marchetti, who has created a concept restaurant called Capitol Bar and Grill, a Chicago-style grill that features top wines and a menu of bistro classics with an Italian twist.
SpiceNews can also exclusively reveal the property will soon be home to a barbershop similar to what’s on offer at QT Sydney.
