Pullman Adelaide Hotel has been given the green light to refurbish its top-floor event space, with work set to begin next month.
The million-dollar refurbishment marks a major milestone for the hotel since transitioning from Crowne Plaza to Accor’s Pullman Hotels & Resorts brand in 2017.
The 15th floor ballroom, capable of hosting up to 400 delegates, will be given a complete makeover, with new wall coverings, custom flooring, lighting and upgraded AV equipment.
Renowned design studio Woods Bagot has been engaged to lead the project and will focus on maximising the venue’s views across Hindmarsh Square, the city and towards Adelaide Hills.
“The design concept to update Pullman Adelaide celebrates the hotel’s unique location – which is almost entirely bordered by parklands – by taking inspiration from the detailed architectural and cultural elements of the city and the Botanic Gardens,” said Woods Bagot principal Rosina Di Maria.
The adjoining corner boardroom will also receive a refresh, while the pre-function space will enjoy a refurbished bar facility and bi-fold doors to a balcony overlooking Hindmarsh Square.
Pullman Adelaide Hotel general manager Llewellyn Wyeth said the enhanced event space will reflect the hotel’s repositioning as a luxury product.
“The unique aspect from our top floor function space is the amazing views across Hindmarsh Square, now that the meeting rooms will benefit from this aspect via the new glazed façade, the space will be perfectly suited to business events and meetings, whilst capturing the ambience and design qualities suitable for personable functions such as weddings and celebrations,” he said.
“We are excited to be embarking on this new project with our hotel owner, Hines Property, and we are looking forward to welcoming new business to enjoy our brand-new seamless conferencing facilities from early 2020.”
