Pentridge Prison in Melbourne’s north will soon become home to a new micro-brewery and wine bar.
To be operated by Daniel Caneva from The Post Office Hotel, and focusing on all Australian produce, the new venue will be known as ‘Coburg Brewing Co.’.
The brewery will be designed by renowned architects, Technē, and is set to encompass both outdoor, indoor and laneway dining options, with some of the site’s key heritage features such as laundry machinery and solitary confinement cells, to be restored and showcased as a feature within the venue.
The dining precinct is part of property developer Future Estate’s $1 billion ‘Coburg Quarter’ project that aims to deliver ‘inspired dining and commercial precincts within a first-class urban renewal community’.
The new venue is scheduled to open in July this year.
