Located on the banks of the Brisbane River, in the Northshore Brisbane precinct, the venue is a versatile, multifunctional and fully equipped space for hire, catering for art exhibitions, workshops, markets, cultural activations, music festivals, and corporate presentations and conferences.
Superordinary features indoor and outdoor stages, gallery space, workshop areas, studios and market spaces across 1700 square metres indoors and 2200 square metres outdoors.
The venue has capacity for up to 2000 people outside or 1800 inside; theatre-style seating for up to 1800 people; ballroom-style seating for up to 800 people; and long-table dining for up to 1200 people.
“The new event space at Superordinary is designed to be a versatile and dynamic environment that can cater to a wide range of events all in support of the underlying goals for Superordinary creating space to support artists,” Lincoln Savage, creative director at Superordinary, tells Spice.
“Whether it’s an art exhibition, a corporate function, a community workshop, or a private party, our space is equipped to handle it all. With its industrial-chic aesthetic, high ceilings and flexible layout, Superordinary provides a unique backdrop that can be tailored to suit each event.
“The space is ideal for creatives, businesses and individuals looking for a distinctive venue that encourages innovation and collaboration.”
Superordinary’s industrial aesthetic reflects Northshore Brisbane’s maritime roots.
“Superordinary is more than just a warehouse – it’s a cultural beacon in the heart of the city,” says Savage. “Founded with the mission to support and promote the arts, [the venue] has evolved into a multifaceted space that includes artist studios, exhibition areas and now a large-scale event venue.
“Our commitment to nurturing creativity and innovation is at the core of everything we do. We provide artists with the resources and environment they need to thrive, while offering the public access to groundbreaking exhibitions and events.
“Superordinary is where art meets community, fostering an environment where innovative ideas and artistic expression converge.”
The fully accessible space features more than 300 free onsite car parks, three-phase power throughout, a scissor lift and logistical and technical support if required.
“The expansion into creating an event space was inspired by our desire to foster a deeper connection between the arts and the community,” says Savage.
“Superordinary has always been about pushing boundaries and creating platforms for artistic expression. By developing an event space, we aim to provide a hub where art, culture and community can intersect.”
