New CEO announced for ICC Sydney

International Convention Centre Sydney (ICC Sydney) has announced its new CEO following the retirement of former CEO Geoff Donaghy.

ICC Sydney’s current general manager, Adam Mather-Brown (pictured, above left), will step up to the role of CEO, with Beverley Parker (pictured, above right) taking on the position of deputy CEO, in addition to her current role as the venue’s director of business development.

The leadership change comes on the back of former CEO Geoff Donaghy calling time on his 30-year career with ASM Global, which operates ICC Sydney.

Mather-Brown has held leadership positions at five major convention centres across 26 years, including 20 years with ASM Global, and 10 years at ICC Sydney.

He was part of the team that launched the venue, which opened in 2016, and his elevation to CEO is part of ASM Global’s long-term succession plan for life after Donaghy.

“Adam’s experience is exceptional, making him the ideal person to lead ICC Sydney into its second decade of operation, upholding ASM Global’s bold aspiration for ICC Sydney to be one of the world’s best performing convention, exhibition and entertainment centres,” says ASM Global (APAC) chairman and chief executive Harvey Lister AM.

Mather-Brown says he is honoured to be entrusted to drive the future direction of ICC Sydney.

“ICC Sydney holds a special place in the heart of Australia’s top business events destination – the vibrant and cosmopolitan city of Sydney,” he says.

Parker will also maintain her role within ASM Global (APAC) as its director of marketing.

“Beverley is an exceptional executive who has experience in venues, sales and marketing,” says Lister.

“She has been in an executive role at ICC Sydney as director of business development for more than 10 years and has spent a significant part of her career in senior management roles with hotels and other organisations within the Darling Harbour precinct.

“Beverley’s significant contribution to the commercial success of ICC Sydney during the past decade puts her in good stead for her role as deputy chief executive officer, and will be of great benefit to the ongoing development and success of the venue.”

Parker says she is looking forward to the future in her new role at ICC Sydney.

“Together with our passionate leadership team, I am excited by the prospect of working with our network of stakeholders, clients and team members to continue delivering the world-class event services that are synonymous with ICC Sydney,” she says.
