Microhire partners with Pier One Sydney Harbour

Australian-owned audiovisual company Microhire has announced a new partnership with historic hotel Pier One Sydney Harbour, Autograph Collection.

Situated adjacent to Sydney Harbour Bridge at the southern end of the famous harbour, Pier One Sydney Harbour is partnering with Microhire to install the company’s cutting-edge technology.

The hotel features 10 function rooms, including indoor and outdoor spaces, and each boasts natural light and harbour views.

There is also a private pontoon for arrivals to the hotel by boat.

“Pier One has always prided itself on creating unique experiences for our guests and we are excited to work with Microhire to deliver on our word,” says Kim Mahaffy, general manager of Pier One Sydney Harbour.

“Our partnership enables us to pursue a joint commitment to execute world-class AV solutions, foster a culture of innovation and create memorable moments for our guests.”

The centrepiece of the hotel’s Water Room will be a 10-metre ultrawide LED wall. With vibrant, high-resolution visuals, this immersive moveable display will provide flexibility, ensuring uninterrupted views of Sydney Harbour Bridge and Luna Park.

Paired with 36 kinetic lights and 48 moving LED lights, this room can be transformed into a dynamic visual display with an interplay of motion and light.

An AI-powered 4K PTZ tracking video camera ensures high-quality video capturing, making this space a technological marvel.

Overlooking Walsh Bay, the Dawes Point Rooms feature high-definition laser projectors paired with high-contrast projection screens to ensure presentations remain sharp, even in bright conditions.

These rooms’ colour-changing and pixel-mappable LED ceiling lights add layers of customisation.

The Bridge Room boasts an adjoining clear-wall marquee where event organisers can create bespoke themes with coloured LED wash lights.

The Private Dining Room features an 85-inch 4K QLED display which doubles as digital artwork, alongside a 4K video conference system.

The venue-wide upgrades include a mobile 135-inch high-definition LED wall; 18 digital signage systems; engineered audio systems; wireless connectivity; and advanced system controls.

“Pier One Sydney Harbour is renowned for delivering a venue experience like no other,” says Geoff Townend, Microhire’s regional general manager, NSW and New Zealand.

“These world-class technological enhancements are testament to our commitment to innovation and our dedication to creating extraordinary events.”
