Melbourne Recital Centre opens pop-up music venue

The Melbourne Recital Centre's has revealed their summer pop-up music venue, The Garden Party at a media launch yesterday with a warm welcome by Mary Valentine, CEO and Councillor Rohan Leppert.


The Melbourne Recital Centre’s has revealed their summer pop-up music venue, The Garden Party at a media launch yesterday with a warm welcome by Mary Valentine, CEO and Councillor Rohan Leppert.


The pop-up music space will be open until Feb 17, hosting a variety of musical performances.

The pop-up venue will showcase a variety of exclusive musical performances each Friday and Saturday evening from 5pm–11:30pm and Sunday afternoon from 2pm–9pm, open to the public.

Melbourne rockers Graveyard Train and indie darling Gossling set the scene, and gave the media a preview of what’s to come over the next four weeks.

The temporary vneue space is located behind the MRC on Sturt Street, The Garden Party opens to the public this Friday 25 January, with performances from The Bamboos, Brous and Axolotl and closes with a last show on February 17, 2013.


A huge line up of acts have been revealed including the likes of Tinpan Orange (pictured) and much more.

Tickets to The Garden Party sessions are from $35 +BF in advance through Moshtix.
