MCEC unveils new live music venue

It's lights, camera, action for the venue's new live music space.

Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre (MCEC) has found a new use for its exhibition bays to appeal to the live music market.

Following a series of investment in new technology and infrastructure, the exhibition bays can now be utilised for live music events for up to 3000 patrons.

MCEC chief executive Peter King said the new offering was a “natural progression” for the venue.

“We’ve hosted countless live music events in our plenary and know we have the cutting edge technology and expertise to bring these events to life,” he said.

The space can host up to 3000 general admission patrons

“Expanding our options for ticketed events is a natural progression, Melbourne’s been losing some of those spaces, and we’re looking at where we can fill the gaps.”

With a state-of-the-art staging, lighting and audio set up, the space gives touring companies a new option in the heart of Melbourne.

“Whoever you’re planning to put under the spotlight, we have the support, space and experience to ensure your event stands out from the crowd,” said King.
