Luna Park Venues was named Best Function/Convention Centre Caterer (Sydney Metropolitan) at the Restaurant and Catering Awards this week.
Luna Park Sydney, celebrating its 80th anniversary this year, beat eight other caterers in the category. Its kitchen team is headed up by internationally trained executive chef Mark Taylor.
Luna Park Venues has 14 different settings and spaces for functions and conventions with capacity for 30 to 1,300.
This year, the venue has hosted the annual Australia Day Lunch, Big Sports Lunch and Landsdowne Lunch.
General manager (sales) Luna Park Venues James Granter said, “It has been our goal to provide the very best catering Sydney has on offer in our stunning harbourside venues, our whole team can rightly be very proud and we congratulate Mark who has led our professional catering personnel for over 10 years.”
The judging criteria encompassed many facets of the catering experience, including food and staff service, the function area setup and food presentation.
Luna Park Venues will progress to nationals held in Brisbane on October 26.
