The team behind Brisbane venue Lightspace have launched a new event space, Loyal Hope.
Located on James Street in Fortitude Valley, Loyal Hope is currently open for workshops and presentations, and will be available for cocktail events in early 2019.
The space can host up to 80 guests for formal dining or theatre-style presentations, or up to 100 guests for cocktail events.
Speaking to Spice News, owner John Macdonald said the space will cater well to the corporate event market.
“With an enviable location within the bustling James Street precinct, Loyal Hope is perfect for small meetings, workshops and cocktail events,” he said.
“We have AV and furniture onsite to cater to any configuration required and each hire has exclusive use of the venue.”
Originally named The Loyal Hope of the Valley Lodge, the heritage-listed hall was constructed in 1923 for the Queensland branch of the Manchester Unity Independent Order of Oddfellows Friendly Society.
The society would assist with healthcare and funeral expenses during a time when there was little or no government arrangements to help, and the lodge was used a meeting place for the Oddfellows.
Now lovingly restored, the venue offers a point of different for corporate events.
“The venue is oozing with character as it features high ceilings, polished hardwood floors and huge timber sash windows which flood the space in natural light,” Macdonald told Spice News.
