InterContinental Perth City set to debut with fresh meeting suite concept

Say hello to Perth's newest MICE property.

InterContinental Perth City Centre is set to welcome its first guests on 15 October, bringing with it an all-new meeting suite concept.

The Gallery Meeting Suites will provide a reimagined environment for business gatherings, seminars and more intimate events in ways not seen before in Perth thanks to a dedicated floor of four light filled suites, a central lounge area, private al fresco terraces and display kitchen.

Each meeting suite has access to The Chef’s Pantry, a stylish central lounge always stocked with healthy snacks, chilled refreshments, make-your-own espresso coffee and an array of herbal teas along with daily papers and high speed Wi-Fi for delegates to access at any time during their function.

A spacious outdoor terrace overlooking century old palm trees and heritage buildings of The King Street precinct is also available for private events for up to 70 guests. Complete with a bar, BBQ and induction cooking station, it offers a raft of sophisticated al fresco hospitality possibilities for event planners keen to combine Perth’s glorious weather and stylish surrounds.

“The hotel will certainly be stylish, our Club InterContinental and Gallery Meeting Suites will be a premium point of distinction and we’re in a vibrant city locale, but it’s the intuitive service our team can’t wait to welcome guests with,” says General Manager of InterContinental Perth City Centre, Adam McDonald.

“We’re looking forward to creating a truly international hotel for Perth that brings global etiquette to travelling and meeting for business or pleasure,” adds Adam.

The largest of the meeting suites boasts a display kitchen within the room, allowing for live culinary demonstrations during an event or for the finishing touches to dining preparations being made as guests gather for their launch, lunch or seminar.

Carefully curated event menus will also showcase the best of local West Australian produce with an emphasis on regionally sourced meats, seafood and wines from boutique vineyards. And, naturally the entire meeting floor is equipped with in built audio-visual components, onsite technician and the latest AV technology to support any events needs.

InterContinental Perth City Centre’s dynamic restaurant and bar options await for gatherings to continue upon the conclusion of events and meetings.

Heno & Rey, a slickly reinterpreted tapas bar that spills onto Hay and King Streets will adopt a typically Spanish approach where a meal can be a quick bite or a longer affair, complete with cocktails, an extensive charcuterie offer and raw bar. Ascua – Spanish for ‘ember’ – will be a dramatic ground floor restaurant space taking the classic grill to new heights. A striking open kitchen will be the focal point for showcasing preparation of aged beef and meats, while intimate banquette seating and moody surrounds will pair with service from Ascua’s sommelier.
