InterContinental Hotels & Resorts has reopened the heritage listed Rialto Building after a $60 million refurbishment as the InterContinental Melbourne The Rialto. Located in the financial district of the city, the hotel’s public and private spaces will be available for meetings, conferences and events from January 2009.

The hotel will join a global collection of heritage-listed InterContinental hotels and resorts, including InterContinental Paris Le Grand, InterContinental The Willard Washington and InterContinental Sydney.
Dedicated event spaces range from intimate boardrooms and breakout spaces through to a ballroom catering for up to 300. Additionally a fine dining, bars and themed catering are also available onsite.
“This revitalised hotel will be one of the best in the country and a flagship example of the InterContinental brand,” said InterContinental Melbourne The Rialto general manager, Manrique Rodriguez.
The property offers all the facilities and services expected of a luxury hotel, including a Club InterContinental overlooking Collins Street and a unique suite collection taking best advantage of the building’s gothic heritage.
