Penthouse events, large-scale conferences and wellness programs are all possible for event planners at Melbourne’s brand new Hotel Chadstone, writes Gwen Luscombe.
Just 17 kilometres from the CBD and connected to the popular shopping and lifestyle precinct, Chadstone Shopping Centre, Hotel Chadstone brings much-needed accommodation and function spaces to Melbourne’s south eastern region.
The M Gallery-branded property offers indulgence, with each of the 250 rooms, suites and two penthouses impeccably created by acclaimed interior designers DWP.
Penthouse events and premium dining
Event planners can make use of the adjacent penthouses for daytime events, and they’re perfectly suited for fashion and beauty launches, styling sessions or cocktail events.
The penthouses offer plenty of living and dining space and spacious balconies which can be interconnected for larger events.
Also on the top level, Altus Rooftop Lounge and Dining offers a sky-high Champagne and wine bar with floor-to-ceiling windows offering views across Melbourne and Port Phillip Bay, making it ideal for dining events. The seasonal menu features the best from local producers and high tea is also served on weekends.
Ground level Pastore is the newest venue for celebrated chef Scott Pickett, blending Italian and Australian cuisine in a stylish setting. The restaurant also features small private dining rooms for groups.
The showstopper
Perhaps the most desperately needed featured that The Hotel Chadstone has brought to the south eastern corner of Melbourne is the sizable ballroom and event spaces in it’s dedicated conference centre.
With eight adaptable spaces over across more than 1000 square metres for events, the conference centre offers a ballroom with space for up to 650 cocktail-style, ideal for AGMs, conferences, gala dinners, awards nights and car launches. The in-house production team, Audio Visual Dynamics, are on hand to to ensure flawless event delivery.
An executive boardroom is also available for up to 12 guests and the pre-function area is ideal for cocktail events of 250 people.
Wellbeing and sustainability
During their stay, guests can unwind in the Holism Retreat, offering specialty treatments such as light therapy, infrared yoga and guided meditation massage.
Yoga classes can be incorporated a corporate wellness program for groups staying in-house and there’s also a digital detox where electronic devices can be safely locked away to ensure complete relaxation.
Sustainability is also a top priority at Hotel Chadstone, which has been awarded a 5-Star Green Star Design rating. Among its Green Star Design features are a specially designed building façade which reflects and reduces heat, rooftop solar panels, rainwater tanks and water saving fixtures.
