The two properties will bring modern accommodation and meeting facilities to the CBD precinct.

IHG Hotels & Resorts and Pro-invest Group will expand their Brisbane presence with two CBD hotel conversions.

Mercure Brisbane and ibis Brisbane will be fully refurbished before reopening as Voco Brisbane City Centre and Hotel Indigo Brisbane City Centre respectively.

Voco Brisbane City Centre will feature 194 guestrooms, each updated and elevated to a premium standards, and a completely reimagined bar offering when it opens later in 2021.

Then in 2022, Hotel Indigo Brisbane City Centre will open with 212 guestrooms, meeting facilities and a new bar and café.

IHG vice president, development – Australasia, Japan & Pacific, Abhijay Sandilya said the group is delighted to build its presence in the Queensland capital.

“The personality that will be injected into the properties is going to be quite unlike anything the city has seen and we’re incredibly excited to bring the community on the journey with us,” he said.

“With a prime CBD location that puts both hotels within walking distance to everything the city has to offer, voco and Hotel Indigo Brisbane are undoubtedly going to be the hotels of choice for both leisure and business travellers.”
