InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) has taken over The Sebel Resort and Spa Hawkesbury Valley and The Sebel Kirkton Park Hunter Valley outside Sydney.

The Sebel Resort and Spa Hawkesbury Valley has been re-branded as a Crowne Plaza, while The Sebel Kirkton Park Hunter Valley will remain unbranded as a boutique hotel in IHG’s system.

“We are delighted to welcome these two stunning hotels to the growing IHG family,” said IHG’s Chief Operating Officer – Australasia and Japan, Karin Sheppard.

“Just a short drive from Sydney, both properties offer world-class facilities and an oasis of calm sophistication, brought to life by IHG’s world-famous True Hospitality.

“For those who feel like venturing beyond the hotel, both offer an abundance of things to do nearby, whether it’s soaring above the valley in a hot air balloon, visiting local markets and heritage-listed sites, taking a trip down the Hawkesbury River or discovering boutique wineries in the Hunter Wine Region. There really is something for everybody,” she said.

The 105-room Crowne Plaza Hawkesbury Valley is set amongst 8 hectares of landscaped gardens and features eight formal and five informal meeting rooms, as well as a heated indoor swimming pool, fitness centre, sauna, two tennis courts, croquet lawn, two adjacent golf courses and the only Villa Thalgo Day Spa in Australia. It also features Gazebo Restaurant, Harvest Restaurant and Barracks Bar.

Kirkton Park Hunter Valley is situated on 28 hectares of rolling countryside with mountain views, blending classic elegance and charm with contemporary style and sophistication.

In addition to these new properties, IHG currently has 32 hotels operating under four brands across Australia and New Zealand: InterContinental, Crowne Plaza, Holiday Inn and Holiday Inn Express with a further 14 in the pipeline including under the Hotel Indigo brand.
