Today marks the beginning of Escarpment Group’s unveiling of the Hydro Majestic refurbishment.
The 121 year-old historic property will open to the public tomorrow with a series of high tea events in The Casino Lobby and The Wintergarden. The other venues within the property, including The Boiler House and The Salon Du The, will opening in the coming weeks.
The Hydro Majestic, that was originally the brainchild of Sydney department store entrepreneur Mark Foy, started its life as Hargraves House in 1893.
The Escarpment Group, that also owns Lilianfels Resort and Spa, Echoes Boutique Hotel and Restaurant and Parklands Country Gardens and Lodges, engaged the services of interior designer Peter Reeve and the team at CRD. They have interpreted the hotel’s history by creating a range of carpets, paints, wallpapers and furnishings with Australian designers and suppliers based on period influences referencing the beauty of the Edwardian, the generosity of the Art Nouveau of the Belle Époque and moments of Art Deco.
The Hydro Majestic is located on the Great Western Highway, Medlow Bath NSW.
Hydro Magestic I remember going there for my birthday weekend was fantastic time to remember and share. We had two small children at the time too, they fed kids early so we could have dinner for two. It was child friendly with huge hallway running through, the kids met other kids and did that too. We played tennis and in the grounds there was a little quaint pub too. It was like being in England but with a more spectacular view.Photo’s bring back memories too. wonder in this computer age what will kids do, no albums these days to view.. Be interesting to see the new renovations too. hope you enjoy this sharing with you
