The Four Seasons Hotel was the first Sydney property to sign up for the four-channel package through Foxtel Business and General Manager Stephen Lewis said the Games coverage would be extensive for guests.
“We’re thrilled to be able to bring live, uninterrupted coverage of such an important international event to our guests who hail from all over the world,” he said.
“Not only will there be coverage of all Australian competitors’ events, but also every gold medal event,” Lewis said.
A number of Accor properties nationally and the award-winning Emporium Hotel in Brisbane have also signed up for the live, 24-hour television coverage Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympic Games – exactly the same package that is available in homes.
“Guests staying at the Emporium Hotel in Brisbane will love the detailed broadcast of the 2010 Winter Olympics we have arranged. In addition to the free-to-air stations, we will also be offering complimentary access to four more dedicated channels, featuring live, uninterrupted coverage of every sport and competitor in every heat and final,” said Emporium Hotel General Manager Peter Savoff.
“It will be a first for our Australian guests and international guests will also be able to follow their countrymen with keen interest,” he said.
According to Foxtel and Austar, it’s not too late for hotels to sign-up for the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympic Games package, on which the telecast commences live at 0450am (Sydney time) this Saturday (Feb 13).
Guests at each hotel signed up will have access to four Foxtel channels covering all the action in Vancouver, Cypress Mountain, Whistler and Creekside for 17 days from February 13, 2010.
