The Australian National Maritime Museum welcomes a new waterfront conference and event space.
Located in Darling Harbour and due to open in early November 2016, The Conference Centre offers the museum’s western annex for hire for the first time. The centre has a separate entrance, 13-metre-tall window glazing and an outdoor entertaining terrace that looks over Pyrmont Bay toward Barangaroo.
The main conference space has a capacity for up to 120 delegates for day conferences or up to 200 guests for cocktail functions, and includes an audio-visual suite and servery for specially-designed menus by award-winning caterer Laissez-faire. Three separate break-out areas with access to the waterfront terrace provides flexibility for conferences, day-long meetings and evening events, as well as corporate off-site programs.
The mezzanine level houses the Wal Gentle Boardroom. This solid timber boardroom is inspired by the elegant interiors of British clipper Cutty Sark and provides a contrast to the contemporary design of the rest of the venue.
The Conference Centre at the Australian National Maritime Museum opens on 3 November, 2016.
