The Potager Mount Tomah, alongside the new hole in the wall Ugly Mug Express Kiosk (also located within the garden) is the new venture by Joe Lee, director of the Ugly Mug Cafes and Kurrajong’s Archibald Hotel.
With stunning views out over the gardens and the Blue Mountains beyond, the venue has both indoor and outdoor seating and can be booked for exclusive use after hours.
Open for both breakfast and lunch from Wednesday through to Sunday, The Potager Mount Tomah boasts an extensive menu, created by the group’s head chef venue head chef Justin Ristevski.
With a creative breakfast menu that features classics such as eggs ‘Benny’ and a vegetarian option with cauliflower, kale, puffed rice and avocado cream topped with a poached egg, Ristevsky says that the focus on local produce goes way beyond lip service.
The kitchen team currently source apples, honey and herbs from the local area, with a view to expanding this out to include much more of the menu.
The lunch menu changes daily, the venue is licensed, and the kitchen is more than happy to provide catering to events held within the garden. From canapés and Champagne for special events, right through to picnic-style share platters, the team can deliver and serve whatever is needed.
The interiors, recently refreshed by Joanne Wilbow of Black Pebble Design, feature natural tones together with understated furnishings and subtle decorative items.
The Potager Mount Tomah is located in the Mount Tomah Botanic Gardens, Bells Line of Road, Mount Tomah NSW.
