Mr Moustache in the new Adina complex on Hall St in Bondi is serving up mezcal and authentic street food.
The menu, created by chef Pablo Galindo and head chef Sam Connally, takes inspiration from Mexican street food stalls and includes classics such as tostaditas, tacos and tortita ahogada, mini braised pork sandwiches served with hot chilli sauce.
Mr Moustache also stocks the biggest range of mezcal in Australia, with over 60 varieties available from the bar. Bartender Mike Tomasic has created a range of cocktails that feature the indigenous Mexican spirit and owner Regina Buenos Ros is always on-hand to offer a tasting to curious punters, party goers and corporate groups.
The 50-seat venue’s interior takes influence from Porfirio Diaz, an ex-Mexican president who was obsessed with France. The space combines the two architectural styles of Mexico City, with the bar area reflecting Diaz’s francophilia with marble benches, glass and mirrored surfaces.
Mr. Moustache is located at 69-71 Hall Street, Bondi.
