Tucked inside a glass and steel lobby in the financial district of the CBD, Bowery Lane is a welcome blast of warmth, hospitality and personality.
With a New-York style interior, a menu that incorporates generous share plates of slow cooked meats, seasonal salads and a list of surprising burgers like the soft-shelled crab with Asian slaw, this restaurant is sure to become a favourite with inner-city workers who crave something more inviting that a food court or a typical corporate credit card restaurant.
Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, breakfast items include Bowery big breakfast, slow-baked Boston beans and the cinnamon and raisin bagel by Brooklyn Boy Bagels, served with ricotta, quince and dulce de leche. Lunch menu picks include the rock lobster sliders; pork collar and scratchings with apple, parsley and fennel salad and spiced pear chutney and the New York cheeseburger.
In keeping with current coffee snobbery trends, Bowery Lane offers Cold-drip and Chemex coffees and a wine list that mashes up USA with Australia. The cocktail list focuses on the classics.
Bowery Lane’s interior features exposed brick walls, raw concrete, black leather banquettes, art deco features and an 18-seat communal table.
The café is currently open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, with plans to expand into catering services. They will also soon be the sole caterers for nearby premium executive business lounge, The Porter.
The venue can be split into separate function spaces or hired out for exclusive use for stand-up cocktail for up to 100 people.
Bowery Lane is located at 1 O’Connell Street, Sydney.
