Tribe Hotel Group is set to enter the Australian market next year.

The first Tribe property, a $30 million ProBuild project, is set to open in West Perth in December 2016.

Tribe has also purchased sites in Melbourne and Hobart and plans to start building in 2016.

The company, known for its affordable modular architecture style, has also announced a management collaboration with Mantra Group.

Tribe Hotel Group founder Mark Peters said, “Tribe aims to revolutionise the traditional hotel experience by challenging the norms to attract the new generation of traveller who is looking for simplicity, affordability, and connectivity in a high-end interior environment. We saw an opportunity to lower the cost of construction by designing and manufacturing a quality modular product from overseas and plan to pass these savings onto our guests.

“We look forward to bringing this vision to life with Mantra Group and our key business partners to revolutionise the market when we open in West Perth,” said Peters.

Mantra Group CEO Bob East said, “Mantra Group’s expertise in distribution and our operating expertise across all forms of accommodation makes it the most compelling operator for this new venture.

“The Perth market is in a solid position with strong occupancies. We expect this to be sustained by a growing leisure travel sector, along with corporate travel and inbound tourism maintaining strong demand for the city and are confident this project will be a great success,” said East.
