Adelaide has a new 5-star boutique hotel that is in walking distance from the Riverbank Entertainment Precinct.

Located in the old Colonial Mutual Life building on the corner of Hindley St and King William St, The Mayfair Hotel retains the building’s 1930s heritage façade with the addition of a ‘jewel box’ structure built on the southern corner. With interiors by Bates Smart, the hotel has 170 rooms and suites, a rooftop terrace and lounge, meeting and function rooms featuring natural light, a business centre, gym and an on-site restaurant, bar and café.

Executive chef Bethany Finn is at the helm of Mayflower Restaurant and Bar and is offering classics like a dessert trolley that comes straight to your table, a weekend High Tea, and food and wine menus laden with South Australia’s best produce and locally sourced ingredients.

Café 55 which is adjacent to the hotel lobby offers crusty baguettes, healthy salads, home-made soups, artisan pies, slow cooked classic braises and coffee.

Guests staying on the executive floors have access to Hennessy Lounge that offers breakfast, refreshments and canapés in the afternoon.

The investment costing upwards of $55 million was developed by the Adabco Group, which also owns the Adabco Boutique Hotel, a 4-star hotel comprising 70 rooms on Wakefield Street. Both Adelaide properties are managed by Ethos Hospitality.
