Hilton will welcome a brand new, luxury resort to its portfolio with the opening of Waldorf Astoria Maldives Ithaafushi on 1 July 2019.
Located in the heart of the South Malé Atoll, the all-villa resort spans three private islands, providing a secluded escape for discerning travellers and top-tier incentive groups.
The resort will feature 122 luxurious villas, each equipped with a pool and uninterrupted views of the Indian Ocean.
Each reef, beach and overwater villa will open onto an indoor and outdoor deck featuring a swinging daybed, dining gazebo, an infinity pool, in-water lounge and an outdoor shower.
The property will also include 11 dining outlets, from an elevated treetop-dining concept called Terra to a healthy, garden-to-table restaurant, Glow.
Dino Michael, global head of Waldorf Astoria Hotels & Resorts, said the group is thrilled to bring this “unforgettable property” to the Maldives.
“The resort’s inspirational environment, refined culinary offerings, and thoughtfully designed family options, combined with the brand’s unparalleled commitment to personal service, will give every guest the freedom to create memories that last a lifetime,” he said.
For a more exclusive experience, guests can opt to stay on the Ithaafushi Private Island which features a two-bedroom overwater villa and a three-bedroom beach villa.
Accessible by yacht, the island comes complete with a dedicated chef and personal concierge team, as well as its own spa, gym, five swimming pools, entertainment centre and pristine beaches.
“Our brand has redefined the hospitality experience for the modern, luxury traveller in landmark locations around the world, and we look forward to transforming the Maldives experience for our guests,” said general manager Etienne Dalançon.
Other facilities include a day spa, a water park for young guests, the 40-metre Mirror Pool and a combined water sport and PADI dive centre.
