An inner city pub with extensive function, conference and meeting facilities has taken out the award for best licensed premises at the 2008 City of Sydney Business Awards.
The White Horse Hotel was one of 13 nominated venues vying for the award and one of the five remaining finalists announced at a gala dinner held at Doltone House on Jones Bay Wharf on Thursday (August 27).
Spread over two levels on Crown Street in the heart of Surry Hills, it can cater for 10 to 450 people, with the ability to customise to individual event requirements. Featuring sculptural ironwork, a luxurious private roof terrace and an open fireplace, the White Horse has a contemporary yet comfortable interior and relaxed lounge feel.
“We are committed to providing high quality functions and special events and believe with this state of the art venue, extensive event management team along with our warm and friendly service, we can provide the total event solution, ‘business or pleasure’ to ensure your event is remembered as an absolute success,” said general manager, Simon Mercier.
“We offer a selection of food and beverage menus to suit all functions and special events. Our function packages can be tailored to suit your needs and a menu can be designed specially for your event, we will happily accommodate almost any request,” he said.
Orgnaisations that held functions at the White Horse Hotel include the Sydney Convention and Visitors Bureau, News Ltd, Truman Hoyle Layers and Xerox, among others.
