At the opening of the chain's new property in Guilin, China, last week (Sep 25), Club Med CEO Henri Giscard d'Estaing told SPICENEWS that the Club Med brand is seeking a local partner.


French resort brand Club Med is looking to get back into the Australian market.

At the opening of the chain’s new property in Guilin, China, last week (Sep 25), Club Med CEO Henri Giscard d’Estaing told SPICENEWS that the Club Med brand is currently seeking a local property developer to partner with in Australia.

Following the closure of the Lindeman Island property in January 2012, Giscard d’Estaing said that the company has renewed interest in the region and is seeking offers of partnership.

In addition to relaunching in Australia, Club Med will open a new property in Lombok, Indonesia, in the next two years that is expected to attract the Australian market.

The rapidly expanding brand will open a further three China properties by 2015, with the 4 and 5 trident (star) property in Dong Ao in China’s tropical south slated for a summer 2014 opening.

Club Med Guilin is a located on a former Relais and Chateaux property site and made its worldwide debut to media and dignitaries last week.
