Sydney-based Italian restaurant and retail group Fratelli Fresh has become part of Urban Purveyor Group (UPG).

With six restaurants (five Café Sopra and one Café Nice) and four fresh produce retail outlets (Fratelli Fresh), this is a significant acquisition for UPG.

With this new addition UPG’s annual revenues will be in excess of $200 million. The business now consists of 26 venues, including 10 dining and entertainment brands, and over 2000 employees.

Of the deal, UPG’s CEO Thomas Pash said, “The inclusion of a casual, full-service Italian restaurant group enables us to aggressively enter one of the largest global dining sectors with a business that we believe can easily and quickly expand alongside our other recognised and respected brands.”

Fratelli Fresh CEO Nina Gravelis will join Urban Purveyor Group’s senior leadership team as brand general manager and play a key role in the growth of the company.
