Plans for a new $700 million Canberra convention centre were unveiled by the Australian Territory Government this week.
Canberra-based firm Guida Moseley Brown (GMB) and Rome-based architect Massimiliano Fuksas won the pitch from a shortlist of seven design teams.
ACT chief minister Andrew Barr said, “GMB was responsible for Canberra International Airport, Parliament House and numerous public projects in South East Asia while Fuksas recently completed outstanding international projects including the New Trade Fair in Milan and Shenzen International Airport in Guangdong, China.”
Now that an initial design has been chosen, the next steps in the project are to finalise a reference design and business case for the centre.
