The former site of The Observatory is being converted into a function space called The Ellington.

Full-service event business Epicure is currently renovating the old Observatory building and will be hosting their first function in the new venue on February 8, with final touches to be completed before the end of the month.

The Ellington evokes the spirit of the 1920s in a contemporary new setting. Located opposite the Botanical Gardens next to the North Terraceprecinct, The Ellington is suitable for functions and conferences from 50 to 425.

Its features include modern finishes with grand deco mirrors, a large dance floor and state-of-the-art audio visual facilities. All catering will be done in-house.
