Chef David Thompson is set to open a new restaurant in Perth named Long Chim.
Following on from the opening of a Long Chim in Marina Bay Sands in Singapore, Perth is next in line to receive an outpost of Thompson’s new casual dining brand.
Located in FJM Property’s Old Treasury development, the new venue is set to open later this year.
Thomson said, “I don’t want people thinking it’s going to be a full-on gastronomic experience.
“I’m hoping we’ll do a decent stir-fry or two but it’s about people being able to enjoy themselves with decent food, decent service and decent booze in a decent environment conducive to having a laugh,” he said.
Thompson is best known in Australia for his Potts Point venture, Sailors Thai, and his Bangkok restaurant, Nahm, which came in at number 22 on the S.Pellegrino and Acqua Panna top 50 restaurants in the world this year.
