The top meeting hotels in Asia Pacific region have been revealed in the latest rankings by event technology provider Cvent.
Hyatt Regency Sydney has taken the number one spot for the second year in a row, and was one of 13 Sydney and Melbourne hotels in the annual list.
Among these was InterContinental Sydney (ranked sixth), Hilton Sydney (ranked 12th) and Crown Melbourne (ranked 18th), which all moved up in their respective positions this year.
Hyatt Regency Sydney general manager Malcolm Zancanaro said the hotel is excited to be ranked number one again in 2019.
“In the last 12 months we’ve had the opportunity to welcome thousands of guests to our property for events both large and small, so this accolade is really a testament to our associates and their passion to deliver exceptional meetings every day,” he said.
There were 17 new entries to the top 50 list this year, including Bangkok Marriott Marquis Queen’s Park, Millennium Seoul Hilton, Sofitel Sydney Darling Harbour, PARKROYAL Darling Harbour Sydney, Resorts World Sentosa Singapore, Sofitel Sydney Wentworth and Grand Hyatt Tokyo.

Cvent Australia director of sales Chela Evans said it is exciting to see an increased presence of Australian hotels in the 2019 ranking.
“Meetings mean business, and the hotels featured on this year’s list are attracting top conferences and events to their venues by enhancing their group marketing efforts and expanding their offerings,” she said.
“After just two years in Melbourne, it’s been an honour collaborating with our hotel partners here in Australia to help them grow their group business and elevate their positioning within the global meetings and events marketplace.”
Cvent’s Top Meeting Hotels list is compiled by analysing meeting and event booking activity through the Cvent Supplier Network and ranks venues based on group business performance according to criteria including total requests for proposals and conversion rate.
