Carlson Rezidor’s President of Asia-Pacific, Thorsten Kirschke, is bullish on the MICE market in Asia-Pacific on the back of strong RevPAR results globally that show a significant upward swing towards a major return of the meetings market.

Speaking to Spice sister title HM on video at Carlson’s Asia Pacific Business Conference at the Radisson Blu Plaza Hotel in in Chongqing, China, last week (Feb 5), Kirschke said MICE was outpacing many other segments.

“To see globally the growth pace of MICE, having surpassed RevPAR growth anywhere else in the world is a very good indication that corporate markets are back again investing to harvest returns,” he said.

“It’s very encouraging and Carlson Rezidor is very well positioned for that.”

In the video interview, Kirschke spoke about his outlook for 2015, the company’s expansion plans and much more.
