BWH Hotels signs Townsville hotel

BWH Hotels has announced the signing of economy soft-brand hotel City Oasis Inn Townsville, SureStay Collection by Best Western.

The northern Queensland hotel – which is located just 900 metres from 25,000 capacity Queensland Country Bank Stadium, home to the NRL’s North Queensland Cowboys – is set to operate within BWH Hotel’s soft-brand SureStay Collection, commencing in late September 2024.

City Oasis Inn Townsville offers a mix of guest rooms and suites, plus a lagoon-style swimming pool, cafe, gym, tropical garden and convenient location to Townsville CBD.

“We are thrilled to welcome BWH’s second SureStay Collection hotel in Queensland,” says Rod Munro, managing director of BWH Hotels Australasia.

“The growth of the economy segment during the past 12 months has rapidly accelerated to meet the needs of today’s travellers.

“With its proximity to a major events venue, City Oasis Inn is the preferred choice for guests travelling to Townsville to see the Cowboys, local events and Magnetic Island.

“The hotel is in a prime location to cater to leisure guests and business travellers needing a place to stay.”

City Oasis Inn has been operating independently in Townsville for more than 40 years. It will maintain its current branding to allow the independent property to connect with BWH’s global distribution system.

“We’re confident BWH will honour the unique character of City Oasis Inn while elevating the guest experience to boost our property,” says the hotel’s owner and operator, Brendan Carter.

“The BWH team has displayed its flexibility in orchestrating an adaptable brand partnership that allows our hotel to maintain its identity.

“This was a key factor in our decision to align with the brand.

“We look forward to tapping into BWH’s high standards of hospitality and globally renowned loyalty program to attract new guests.”

City Oasis Inn Townsville will be BWH’s second SureStay Collection property in Queensland, and its sixth SureStay Collection property in Australasia.
