According to NZ Herald, a spokesperson for the fire department said they have received “hundreds” of calls on Tuesday, 22 October, from concerned members of the public.
It is the second fire incident to occur at the construction site this year, after a fire broke in the basement in March injuring one person.

The $700 million construction of NZICC is well underway, with its first event scheduled to take place in October 2020.
More details to come.
I believe they had already moved their open to Feb 2021 due to build issues, so this is not great for them, or those of us trying to book in to the new venue.
