Bert’s, Merivale’s informal brasserie and bar overlooking Pittwater estuary at The Newport, is now available for private events.

Bert’s can hold up to 150 seated guests and offers a range of chic spaces. The open kitchen accented by charcoal ovens and Basque grills is the centrepiece, which opens up to an elegant brasserie and cocktail lounge with antique furnishings and ornate features. The curved room sits beneath a grand wicker ceiling and is lined with plush booths overlooking large windows with views over Pittwater, while the Champagne bar is the ideal spot for welcome drinks before or night caps.

Executive chef Jordan Toft’s coastal European-inspired food is designed to share, with celebration firmly in mind. Guests can start off with classic offerings of natural oysters, dressed crab and toasted brioche canapés followed by leafy salads and charcuterie from the larder. For mains, they can choose lobster from the tank, a selection of beef or whole fish roasted in the charcoal oven or cooked over the basque grills, accompanied by simple preparations of vegetables.

To complement the incredible food offering, Bert’s boasts a 750-strong wine selection and classic, elegant cocktails. Bespoke menus and packages can be designed to suit seated shared-style functions or stand-up cocktail events, with packages starting from around $150 per person.

Guests will also have the option to continue their celebrations in the magnificent grounds of The Newport with its eclectic range of spaces in which to enjoy, and exclusive use of The Newport’s personal bus service can be arranged to transport guests.

Bert’s Bar & Brasserie is located at 2 Kalinya Street, Newport NSW.
