Brent Savage (head chef) and Nick Hildebrandt (sommelier) today opened Yellow, a Parisian-style bistro at 57-59 Macleay St in Potts Point, Sydney.

Featuring a 60-seat dining room, bar area and outdoor setting, Yellow’s interiors are by Melbourne designer Pascale Gomes-McNabb, the same designer that worked on Bentley and Monopole.

Nick Hildebrandt and Brent Savage: the team behind Yellow

Savage said, “We have been dreaming of opening a French-style bistro for a number of years and we’re thrilled to be bringing the concept to life in Potts Point. We feel as though we’ve now encompassed all fields, with Bentley as our restaurant, Monopole as our wine bar and Yellow as our bistro offering.

“With Monopole just up the road, we know the locals and visiting diners are food and wine lovers. Yellow is a neighbourhood bistro, easy to drop into any night of the week but with a strong focus on innovative food. Of course Nick has had fun with the wine list, too.”

Yellow House is one of the historic buildings of Potts Point with a colourful history; it was originally established as an artist’s collective in the early 1970s including influential artists Martin Sharp, Brett Whitely, Greg Wait and George Gittoes.  An Edwardian building, the facade was painted yellow as a nod to artist Vincent Van Gogh.
