The Australian Jockey Club (AJC) was named Caterer of the Year at the Carbon Neutral 2008 Savour Australian National Awards for Excellence held in Brisbane on Monday (27 October.)

Recognised as a highly respected award for restaurants and catering, the award is given to an establishment judged across a range of categories including food quality, service and customer satisfaction as determined by the panel of judges. The AJC also picked up the Convention Centre Caterer of the Year Award last night.

“The AJC has always been recognised as a top quality location for conventions and events and this award duly recognises the outstanding quality of the catering and service that is produced at Royal Randwick,” said AJC chief executive, Norman Gillespie.

“To win this award over such a quality list of competitors demonstrates that the AJC is at the top of a hugely competitive industry.

The AJC was nominated for the national award after taking out the Caterer of the Year award at the Restaurant and Catering NSW/ACT 2008 Awards for Excellence held in September.

The property hosts around 320 events a year and offers a unique location and range of facilities for gala dinners, exhibitions and product launches. Its garden and lawn area are also available for corporate family day events, public festivals and corporate teambuilding.
