In the lead up to Spring Carnival, the Australian Jockey Club (AJC) at Royal Randwick is launching a recruitment drive to employ more than 300 staff to support the crowds the event attracts.
This campaign comes off the back of the club’s recent accolade “Most Outstanding Tourist Service” with the Randwick City Business Excellence Awards 2009. This prestigious mantel was presented to the Club before 500 guests at an event held at the South Juniors on Wednesday, 29 July.

the Australian Jockey Club is hiring by the hundreds
Following on from the AJC’s “National Caterer of the Year” accolade in late 2008, the AJC was applauded at the Randwick City Business Excellence Awards 2009 for providing outstanding hospitality services on race days including superior attention to race day hospitality in a private room or marquee, exceptional food and beverage service from the club’s many outlets and excellent customer service during a race day.
With race-goers and glamour-crowds preparing for Spring Carnival which commences on September 26 with the George Main Stakes Day (Ladies Day), visitors can expect a line-up of quality racing and entertainment, an exhibition of the latest fashion and style statements and a newly appointed team of staff who will be dedicated to providing quality service.
Darren Pearce, acting chief executive officer of the AJC says: “This award is a fantastic achievement for Royal Randwick and is very timely as we launch a recruitment drive to employ more than 300 staff to support our Spring Carnival.
Royal Randwick continues its dedication to ensure the highest quality racing with the finest hospitality and we pride ourselves on providing a first class entertainment experience to our members and guests.”
