Aussie brand Vibe Hotels celebrates 21st birthday

Australian hotel chain Vibe Hotels is celebrating its 21st birthday this October, marking growth from its beginnings in Sydney to becoming a nationwide and international brand.

Since its debut in 2003 with Vibe Hotel Rushcutters Bay, the Vibe brand has become synonymous with contemporary design and localised hospitality.

Vibe Hotels is now located throughout Australia and in Singapore, with properties including Vibe Melbourne Docklands, Vibe Adelaide, Vibe Hobart, Vibe Subiaco Perth, Vibe Melbourne, Vibe Darling Harbour, Vibe Hotel Canberra Airport and Vibe Singapore Orchard.

TFE Hotels is seeking to expand the brand’s presence in Australia with Vibe Hotel Westmead to open in western Sydney in 2026.

“I fondly remember joining TFE Hotels – back when we were Toga Hospitality – as national sales manager MICE, with a remit to launch the Vibe brand, starting with Vibe Hotel Rushcutters,” Shahnaz Bakhshay, global sales officer, TFE Hotels, exclusively tells Spice.

“What an incredible journey it’s been, from the bold purples and greens of those early days to the stylish hotels we have today, where guests live the best of the local lifestyle.

“Each Vibe hotel now features thoughtfully designed spaces that invite connection, vibrant interiors, fresh dining options, and versatile conferencing areas, all inspired by the unique energy of their surroundings.

“Looking back, we were one of the first brands to offer breakout spaces, called Vibe Out Rooms, to inspire creativity in conferencing. Twenty-one years ago, we were also offering clients bean bags, chalkboards, whiteboards and cool menus at Vibe Rushcutters and the former Vibe Hotel Sydney – all aimed at inspiring innovation and inventiveness during breakout sessions.

“Through the years, we’ve evolved into a healthier lifestyle approach, and we’ve continued to pick up on market expectations and the expectations of our clients, which has stood us in good stead.

“I can’t wait to see what the next 21 years brings for Vibe.”
