Amora Hotel Melbourne unveils $5 million refurb

The Richmond hotel now offers contemporary event and dining spaces.

Amora Hotel Riverwalk Melbourne has completed a major renovation, revealing brand new public, dining and event spaces.

The $5 million ground level project was led by Techne Architecture + Interior Design includes a new reception, lobby, hotel bar, restaurant dubbed The Reserve Restaurant, courtyard/courtyard bar, as well as exterior works.

The hotel’s event spaces were also given a revamp as part of the project.

The former marquee area has been transformed into an Events Pavilion featuring a statement green roof, with a capacity for up to 350 people.

Tim Bilston, general manager at Amora Hotel Riverwalk Melbourne, said the new Events Pavilion can also be configured to accommodate smaller groups.

“The new function spaces are so flexible, they can be used for weddings, events, cocktail parties or conferences,” he said.

“With the addition of the events pavilion space that can be split into three separate spaces as well as four new private dining areas, we can accommodate everyone.”

New-look lobby

The hotel’s food and beverage concepts have also be given a revamp, with new executive chef Sumit Kumud  joining to oversee the menus.

“Our restaurant and bar areas really embrace the modern Melbourne feel, and our new menus which also launched recently are exciting and innovative,” said Bilston.

“Coupled with our 111 guest rooms and suites, and our location on the Yarra River, just a stone’s throw from Melbourne CBD, MCG and Richmond’s buzzing heart, it has really made us a unique destination for locals and visitors alike.”
