Bruny Island’s first luxury retreat, Adventure Bay Luxury Retreat, has recently opened its doors, providing new luxury accommodation in the heart of some of Australia’s most pristine and nature-packed wilderness.

Tasmania’s Adventure Bay Luxury Retreat has opened on Bruny Island, perfect for an incentive retreat.

The indulgent accommodation is nestled amongst 33 acres of open bushland with a backdrop of old growth eucalyptus rainforest in Adventure Bay, guaranteeing privacy to guests and a stone’s throw from its famous beach. Featuring two stylish standalone lodges, the Retreat is designed to enhance Tasmania’s Bruny Island experience, whilst offering every comfort and all the facilities to ensure guests are both self-contained and entertained.

Accommodating up to eight people, The Lodge is the ultimate in eco-luxury, built to maximise the fit with the surroundings, it also includes a bath with a view, where guests can relax overlooking the private nature surroundings. The Retreat’s Cottage has been specifically designed for romantics, looking to combine adventure and wilderness with luxury and privacy, including a stunning spa for two.

“Anyone who visits Bruny Island falls in love with its incredibly unspoilt wilderness,”said Adventure Bay Retreat’s managing director, Jan Glover. “We’ve created accommodation to enhance this. It’s a place where you can explore the land and sea as much as you like, or retreat into luxury and just enjoy your surroundings. Whether you’re out spotting the rare white wallaby, searching for the Forty Spotted Pardalote in the Neck Game Reserve or walking one of the beautiful coastal or inland tracks, there’s something for everyone.”

Bruny Island is just over one hour’s car ferry journey from Hobart. Home to fur seals, fairy penguins and the white wallaby, the island is a bird -watcher’s paradise with some of the world’s most endangered species inhabiting the remote wilderness.

“Over the years, Bruny has also become home to luxury boutique food and wine enterprises, offering a real gourmet experience to our Adventure Bay Retreat guests,” Glover continues. “You can’t go home without sampling wine from Australia’s southern-most vineyard, or indulging in the hand-made fudge, chocolates, truffles, berries and cheese. There are also cafes and great pub food on the island, so guests can choose to leave the Retreat’s kitchens untouched. It’s just as well there are so many gorgeous walks for those expanding waistlines,” added Glover.
