Adelaide Venue Management launches social impact program

Adelaide Venue Management, operators of Adelaide Convention Centre, Adelaide Entertainment Centre and Coopers Stadium, has unveiled its new social impact program.

The “Community Impact Program” outlines the company’s commitment to being a “force for good” in the events and venue management industry.

It is an extension of Adelaide Venue Management’s environmental, social and governance strategy, “The Green Print”, which is designed to amplify the organisation’s social impact, while inspiring, educating and supporting event organisers with their event legacy objectives.

The program is built on a set of partnerships with South Australian organisations across the four key areas of community, environment, First Nations and goods donations.

It provides options for event organisers to work with these partners to leave lasting legacies for their events in the state, and is about providing a framework and simple, tangible solutions to support the delivery of socially responsible events.

Adelaide Venue Management has named Operation Flinders as its principal community partner, with affiliate members including Trees for Life, Reconciliation South Australia and Vinnies.

The program also pledges Adelaide Venue Management’s ongoing support to local food redistribution centres Faithworks, Foodbank, Hutt St Centre and OzHarvest.

“The events industry – business events in particular – has an extraordinary power to drive positive change, not only for the sector but for communities of the host destination,” says Martin Radcliffe, CEO, Adelaide Venue Management (pictured, at top, with Sarah Leo, community engagement coordinator, Operation Flinders).

“Adelaide Venue Management is driven to maximise positive impact in our community through our team’s work and initiatives of our clients.

“Our ‘Community Impact Program’ will be effective in facilitating opportunities and promoting collaboration between Adelaide Venue Management, our clients (event organisers) and local South Australian community groups, creating immediate benefits and lasting legacies.”

Adelaide Venue Management has worked with each community partner to develop bespoke and measurable engagement opportunities for event organisers to consider.

This list of opportunities provides a starting point for event organisers, with tailored programs available for those with specific event legacy and environmental, social and governance objectives.
