For the first time, Spice is presenting the Ideas Academy at AIME 2024 – to be held on 20-21 February at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre – with keynote speaker sessions and panel discussions delivering expert information and knowledge sharing about the events industry.
Each Ideas Academy presented by Spice session will be delivered silently via individual headphones, with high-quality, informative content providing practical takeaways for attendees to implement in their businesses.
Topics covered include event marketing, sustainability, food and beverage, entertainment, team building, First Nations culture and wellness.
On Wednesday, 21 February, from 3pm to 3.30pm, Nadav – who has decades of experience touring and working in the music industry – will present the “Sound and Music: The Future of Mental Health” session.
Drawing on music skills, science and ancient technologies, the session will explore how using your voice can be a tool for balance through techniques such as humming or mantra; how low and audible frequencies are heard through the ears but also felt in the body.
This is where we unlock vast opportunities to use sound as a modality to help people circumnavigate mental health issues.
The session will also uncover the therapeutic role of music and sound; how these modalities can lead us into new emotional states in the blink of an eye; and how businesses can use these tools to look after the mental health and wellbeing of people.
Through the science of sound, Nadav brings individuals and groups together to experience their greatest potential, peace of mind and connectedness.
Since 2005, he has spent much time in India studying the spiritual and scientific properties of Vedic chants and mantra.
Nadav is inspired by the transformative power of music and the ancient science of sonic vibration, meditation and yoga as paths to self-discovery.
He has facilitated many retreats, events, conferences, online courses and group and private sessions using sound and meditation as a modality for mental health, team building and wellbeing.
The 2020 COVID-19 lockdown saw Nadav produce a series of extended mantra meditation pieces to support mental health, anxiety and uncertainty.
In 2021, he launched the meditation course “Mantra as Medicine: 10 Mantras to Transform Your Life”, available on Insight Timer.
Nadav has also been a member of several bands, including Gelbison, Kahn Brothers, Nations By the River, Operation Aloha and, most recently, Air Land Sea.
In 2009, he received the Australian APRA Music Award for “Song of the Year” for co-writing and co-producing the Old Man River song, Sunshine.
In 2013, he composed his first feature film soundtrack for Despite the Gods, a documentary following director Jennifer Lynch through Bollywood.
In 2022, Nadav’s music was heard at the Sydney Film Festival with the release of feature film Everything in Between.
Ideas Academy sessions are free for all AIME attendees without booking.
