Part of The Big Group, Ormond Collective is a brand new event venue in the heart of St Kilda, Melbourne.
Ormond Collective is made up of a collection of historic buildings, each with their own story and characteristics.
Recently, The Big Group hosted a launch event to introduce the venue to industry members, suppliers, loyal clients and new contacts.
Event highlights
At the beginning of the event, guests were welcomed in true Big Group style, with a custom-made cocktail and treats in Ormond Collective branded packaging.
Throughout the night guests were ushered throughout the many beautiful spaces that the historic building has to offer. Guests started with a picnic in the Pavilion, featuring street-style performers and metres of cheese and charcuterie.
They were then led across the courtyard into the Chapel, where the walls were lined with dietary canapés focusing on gluten free, dairy free, nut free and many more intolerances. The aisle was adorned with hundreds of candles while a harpist was situated under a floral installation, playing beautiful music to set the scene.
At 7 o’clock, the doors to the Western Bar opened and guests were treated to a new sultry space, inspired by the prohibition era. Whiskey cocktails circled the room, while jazz musicians set the mood, with some of the best Southern-style food options The Big Group had to offer.
An alarm was sounded and guests were invited into The Hall to experience a show they’d never forget. With everything from cabaret dancers, musicians, singers and a man swinging from a bath, this show had it all!
The final space for the night was magically revealed, and the Eastern Bar, also known as Cannoli Couture appeared. With The Big Group’s talented patisserie team there to help, guests were treated to freshly piped cannoli and a new signature cocktail.
