Creative sparks ignite at Adobe Symposium 2019

We chat to the team at Belle Laide Events to find out more about the 4000 delegate-strong event.

Belle Laide Events (BLE) recently produced Adobe Symposium 2019, where more than 4000 digital creatives gathered under one roof in Sydney.

Spice News chats to the BLE team to discover what went on behind the scenes in producing this large scale event.

Symposium 2019 is the flagship event in Australia for software company Adobe.

Known as ‘the Digital Experiences Conference’, the event saw an audience of more than 4000 digital creatives and strategists under one roof.

Adobe Symposium 2019 was an opportunity to showcase fresh insights and developments in areas like content creation, digital strategy, artificial intelligence and cloud-based platforms which empower individuals and brands to innovate and succeed.

Adobe Symposium 2019 highlights

BLE took the role of main production partner, working with Adobe to design and deliver the event end-to-end. This involved activating a precinct the size of three football fields across two days, which included a keynote theatre space for 3600 people with an almost 100-metre-wide projection screen.

In addition, the event included the Adobe Experience Zone and two exhibition halls filled with sponsor and hospitality activations and interactive entertainment.

The brief also included managing a large roster of spaces across ICC Sydney, including the Darling Harbour Theatre and dozens of breakout rooms where visitors enjoyed a diverse agenda of workshops and presentations from some of the best digital creators and strategists around the globe.

Last but not least, during the two days of Adobe Symposium 2019, BLE delivered a program of 14 ancillary events for Adobe, both within ICC Sydney and across a selection of CBD and Darling Harbour venues. These included executive, networking and leadership events that each had their own themes and focus.

Small agency, big footprint

BLE director Mark Taylor said Adobe Symposium 2019 was a great opportunity for BLE to reinforce its reputation as the “small agency with the big footprint”.

“In addition to adding another successful large-scale production to our portfolio, Symposium 2019 allowed us to stretch our wings in the other areas we are known for within the industry, namely innovative environmental design concepts and detailing,” he said.

The BLE design team created everything from custom stage sets, bespoke hospitality structures and imaginative entertainment activations, right down to the detailed design and styling of tablescapes, print elements and unique centrepieces for VIP lunches and dinners.

Utilising supplier networks

Taylor said the smooth delivery of Adobe Symposium 2019 was underpinned by an amazing network of suppliers.

“These included Innovative Production Services whose technical wizardry was on show across the event, particularly in the spectacular Keynote Theatre,” he said.

“Coleman Group moved mountains when it came to our large scale print and signage requirements, and of course the legends at Harry The Hirer were in it shoulder-to-shoulder with us the whole way through.”

Taylor also acknowledged the work of ICC Sydney as the event’s host venue.

“A big shout out to the ICC management and staff for working so diligently, both behind the scenes and front of house, to make this event such a standout success,” he said.
