South Australia’s Limestone Coast has been chosen to host the Sustainable Economic Growth for Regional Australia (SEGRA) Conference in September 2020.
SEGRA is Australia’s premier conference on regional issues and with some 250 delegates from across the nation expected to attend the business event.
The successful bid submission was presented in April by the Limestone Coast Local Government Association (LCLGA) and the Adelaide Convention Bureau.
LCLGA executive officer Tony Wright said a dedicated team worked tirelessly to ensure it met the criteria required to host the event.
“The LCLGA and its regional stakeholders are thrilled to proudly support hosting next year’s event in the Limestone Coast,” he said.
Visitation across the Limestone Coast has experienced significant growth over the past five years and the SEGRA conference will be a great way to show delegates the visitor appeal of the region.
The SEGRA conference provides an opportunity for all sectors to explore the key issues affecting regional, rural and remote Australia and be part of providing positive sustainable outcomes to ensure future prosperity.
Adelaide Convention Bureau CEO Damien Kitto welcomed the bid win.
“We have no doubt this business event in attracting some 250 visitors to the region will deliver an immediate economic benefit to the local community as well as long term benefits thanks to the all- important legacies these events deliver after the last delegate has departed,” he said.
“Congratulations to the team at the LCLGA in securing this prestigious business event.”
