Reed Exhibitions Australia, the company behind the Asia Pacific Incentives and Meetings Expo (AIME), has acquired a majority stake in Fitness Show Pty Ltd from events operator T2M.
While Reed is already a familiar name in the global sports community for organising the world’s largest fitness expo FIBO which runs in Cologne, Germany; the latest acquisition marks Reed’s first move into the fitness, health and wellbeing community in Australia.
Reed Exhibitions Australia managing director Brian Thomas said they have worked very closely with colleagues in Germany to learn more about the “passionate” industry.
“Talk2 Media has built very successful shows in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane. We look forward to working with them to accelerate the growth of the events,” said Thomas.
The Fitness Shows Event Director, Shaun Krenz and the team that currently organises the events will join RXA ensuring its business as usual and provide customers with a sense of continuity.
In the coming weeks and months RXA and T2M hope to reach out directly to the community in an effort to learn even more about the common goal of growth, globalisation and even more customer value.
Mr Thomas said, “We will continue to use insights from our global networks and the expert knowledge of the local Fitness Show team to improve the event offering, but it is critical that we also speak directly to our local customers. Nobody understands the industry more than they do and our best chance of combined success is undoubtedly in working together towards a shared vision.”
The Fitness Shows bring together the latest fitness and health trends, products, events and experiences including live workouts, fitness classes, seminars and cooking demonstrations. The Fitness Shows are a key part of the marketing mix for many fitness brands and are supported by some of the biggest names in the industry with more than 400 highly-valued exhibitors.
The next event will run in Melbourne at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre from 13-15 October 2017.
