The Exhibition and Event Association (EEAA) is continuing to extend its reach into Queensland with an events program that will showcase the new Royal International Convention Centre (RICC) and more.
Joyce DiMascio, general manager EEAA said that the Association recognises the growing importance of Queensland in the expo market as a driver of major consumer and trade shows.
“It’s a timely and important opportunity for EEAA members from Queensland and members who do business and plan to do business in the state to attend this event. We will also take the opportunity to brief members on the latest Market Monitor findings regarding the health of the industry,” said DiMascio.
Three key events to be held in Queensland in April are:
• EEAA Member Forum, 23 April
• EEAA Young Stars & Leaders Table, 23 April
• EEAA Board Meeting, 23 April
The EEAA Members Forum will commence with a guided tour of Brisbane’s newest event facilities, the RICC, followed by an address from John Aitken, Chief Executive Officer of Brisbane Marketing, who will provide an overview of the Brisbane Economic Development Plan and opportunities for the industry.
“The EEAA will be holding its second Board Meeting for 2013 and our EEAA Young Stars will be staging their first event in Brisbane at the venue,” Joyce DiMascio said.
“The EEAA recognises the important infrastructure investment being made in Queensland, the third biggest market for staging events in Australia. The new RICC facilities are proof that that the exhibition and event industry is continuing to expand,” she added.
The 10,000 square metre two-level building is projected to attract more than 220 events and 30,000 visitors annually.
The EEAA Young Stars Program is also expanding its footprint into Queensland. The committee, chaired, by Brad Booth chose to hold their next event in Brisbane following demand for a platform for younger members of the EEAA to share their views, ideas and experiences as well the opportunity to make a greater contribution in the work of the Association.
Helen Mantellato, director of sales – Exhibitions for Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre and EEAA Board Member will join the Young Stars Leaders Table in a mentoring capacity to discuss ideas and offer advice.
